Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Thanksgiving is finally here and I am so thankful! Not only for the food (the food is definitely a huge part of it), but also because it's the time of year where we actually get to celebrate what exactly we're thankful for. I know that I am so so grateful and appreciative of my family and friends and love being able to spend the day with them all while enjoying some really amazing food. Because of the massive amount of food we typically consume, I like to dress pretty casual and very comfy (you'll probably catch me wearing the super casual option below). However, if you're not staying home, or have more formal plans, I wanted to include an outfit for that too! Take a look below for some inspiration of what to wear for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner.

Current Fall Accessory Craves

I feel like all I've been browsing for lately are scarves, shoes, and all other kinds of accessories. It's probably because a big part of the fall season (to me at least) is combining some of the clothing you already have and simply adding an accessory. For example, you can wear the same sweater twice, just switch up the scarves and shoes and you have two different looks. Other kinds of accessories like stud earrings or a phone case are pieces you can wear everyday and get so much use out of. I think I've had the same iPhone case for close to six months now (I need an update - and I'm loving the one below!). And let's be real, if you have a growing lipstick collection like I do, you really can never have too many. So go ahead, go a little accessory crazy every once in a while - it's worth it!

Holiday Gift Ideas for Her

Since Black Friday is right around the corner, I wanted to get at least one holiday gift guide out there before the big crazy shopping day (Cyber Monday is where it's at for me - but that's a whole different topic!). The below items I've selected are great holiday gifts for any woman in your life, whether it be your girlfriend, sister, mother, or friend. They're all moderately priced, but more likely for someone special that you'd spend a little extra on. Hopefully this helps kick-start your holiday shopping, or at least sparks some ideas!

P.S. please feel free to comment below for any suggested gift guides you want to see (gifts under $25, gifts for men, gifts for beauty lovers, etc.)

Recent Online Fall Purchases

I always tend to go a little more shopping crazy than usual during the fall, but I also try to be smart about it. All of the below items were bought online, which means I definitely used a promo code. If there is anything you can take away from this post, let it be this: always always search for a promo code before you make an online purchase! I typically do a google search of the store name and then adding "promo code" and a ton of options show up. The site I end up getting most of my codes from is called RetailMeNot. Highly recommend you checking them out, especially if you are an online shopper like me!

Here are some of the items I have recently purchased online (with promo codes!):

Nordstrom Clearance Sale Picks

You know it's going to be a good day when you find out Nordstrom is having a clearance sale of up to 40% off. I noticed this sale a few days ago and have been browsing and browsing until I've finally narrowed it down to several items I'm considering purchasing. Of course I'll have to limit myself to only a few of the below items, but I wanted to share them all with you to give you an idea of what's on sale. I'm thinking maybe I'll just choose one pair of boots, one piece of jewelry, and one piece of clothing - that's reasonable right? Scroll on through to see the items I chose!

P.S. the sale ends tomorrow, so head on over!

Will you be shopping the Nordstrom clearance sale?

October Beauty Favorites

I'mmmmm backkkkkk ;)

I know, I know, I haven't posted in about a month (sorry!!). I started a new job around three weeks ago, so I've just been adjusting to my new schedule and all that good stuff. However, I am happily back today with some beauty favorites that I have been using the entire month of October - most of this stuff I've been wearing to work so everything is office appropriate! I also have been working on some upcoming posts - so I don't plan on disappearing for another month! Anyways, I'm glad to be back and I hope you all enjoy the rest of this post :)

October Beauty Favorites

Links Below!

1. My first, most important, and unfortunately most expensive favorite is my Clarisonic Mia. My skin has been really giving me problems lately and as soon as I started using this baby again all of my problem areas started to clear up! It's basically just an exfoliator that does all of the work for you. I know there are some less expensive versions out there, or just use an exfoliating scrub from the drugstore!

2. What a perfect color for fall. This in-between purple/grey hue called Merino Cool is one of my favorite colors on and off nails - and it's by Essie so of course I'm in love!

3. I'm always searching for that go-to drugstore foundation and I decided to try the Nourishing Long Wear makeup by Neutrogena. It's supposed to last 12 hours, and although I don't quite think it does (be sure to use a finishing powder over it anyways), I do find that it lasts most of the day while I'm at work. I recommend this for dryer skin types!

4. An oldie, but certainly a goodie! I think Urban Decay's Naked Basics has to be one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes ever, mainly because it has the perfect neutral everyday colors. All of the shades are matte, except for the first one, which I like to add on my eyelid for a very subtle pop of shimmer. Love, love, love!

5. In addition to finding a go-to drugstore foundation, I also am always looking for a go-to drugstore mascara. I've been really enjoying the Voluminous Miss Manga mascara by Loreal. It's almost comparable to my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara (almost!). But if you're looking for a volumizing mascara, I'd say give this one a try!

6. So we all know Mac's Rebel is a huge fall favorite for many. However, I find that Rebel is a little too intense for everyday, so instead, I've been absolutely loving my Mac lipstick in the shade 'Up the Amp'. It's in that same purple family, but way less intense!

7. Now that it's fall I've been using my shimmer bronzers less and less. Benefit's Hoola Bronzer is perfect because it's matte. I've been using this bronzer everyday for a cheekbone contour.
